Step Sequencer Tidy up

Number6

I've got a drum track with lots of events containing step sequencer patterns, it's a bit all over the place.
The song itself has a consistent BPM, nothing really clever going on.

Some events are set at 32 bars in length, some 24, some 2 or whatever etc.
Consequently the step sequencer editor on an event can be set as 32 steps, 24 steps, 16 steps or whatever etc.
And the velocity is all over the place.

It works fine, but I would like to do some tidy tidy up... What I would like to do is:

1) Select all events in this track.
2) Merge all the step sequencer events into one long step sequencer event.
3) Split this event into multiple equal length patterns (say 8 bars), afterwards I could edit this in the step sequencer as in the image below.

In addition I would like to make all the velocity values the same for all the events in this track.

Is there a quick way to do any of this?

Thanks...!

I don't think there's an easy way. The step sequencer is not as flexible as the "regular" piano roll editor, so splitting and merging don't work the same way. Do you really depend on the step sequencer? Otherwise, you could convert the pattern parts to regular instrument parts and then split and merge them as you like in your 8-bar groupings. Of course, you will lose things like the "object-based" repetitions of the pattern editor or probabilities (if you use them).

The step sequencer functionality is helpful with the Atom SQ, but yup, it does have its limitations, guess I'll have to go with the flow and work it out :)

The only other question I have now is how I can get all notes to the same velocity with the step sequencer in drum mode, for multiple events in the same track (say 60%).

On a per event basis I know about the shift button trick and selecting a velocity.

Thanks!
