Split + link events?

Hey folks,

Poked around and couldn't find anything on point. Is there a way (key combo, default settings, etc.) to split an Event and have the two now-separated Events be automatically linked? Or, alternatively, is there a way to link existing Events? Or is the ol' Shift + D our only way to link?

Use case: say you're building out drums using the Pattern Sequencer, and you've already got your Variations for verse and chorus. You want to add a new one-bar fill Variation at the end of the verse and have the option of using that fill Variation elsewhere in the song. As far as I can tell, you have to (1) make space for that fill (resize the existing event so that bar is empty, split and delete that bar, etc.), then (2) select and Shift + D the existing Pattern to create a linked Event in that empty space, then (3) add your Variation to the Pattern. You can then slot that new fill Variation in any other linked Pattern. It'd be more efficient if we could just split the existing Pattern at the spot we need that fill Variation and have the two split events automatically link to each other.

Ultimately, we'd only be saving just a mouse click or two, but it'd be a real nice touch to improve workflow efficiency.

Best,
Mike
