Solved SPIRE v1.5.18 VST3 - No GUI after Update to Studio One 7.2

I do not think this is v7.2 specific.
Might not even be specific to Studio One(?) But in general, I have had issues with plugs in Studio One but have always considered it to be the responsibility of the plug developer to resolve so we don't get into a tail wagging the dog scenario. (With varying degrees of success TBH).

Agreed.

I do have to marvel at the users that continue to believe think that just because a plugin exists and "appears" to run fine in another DAW - automatically means it's coded to spec.

If I had a nickel.....:)

Hey Guys,

here is the current public Studio One Version 7.2 with the VST3 version of Spire 1.5.18.
I saw all your issued screenshots. So I wanted to show you my screenshot aswell.

I have no idea how to find the bug if it works fine here.
Did you all have a fresh install or re-install? Did you all rescan your plug-in list? Just few ideas.

best
Ari

Has this been reported to Reveal? The inference seems to be because the VST3 works in Cubase, or worked in S1 7.1, it must be a bug in 7.2. But there are posts about missing GUIs in Spire VST3 going back multiple update versions - lots with FLS. The Steiny VST3 SDK is horses*!t and full of vague guidelines that are murder especially for small developers. So I still have to use VST2 versions for a few plugs. 🤔
Good luck with reporting anything to RevealSounds. They have zero time for anyone reporting anything.

Downloaded the Demo gave it a try...

Vst3 no graphics just a header. Same as Trucky reported.

Uninstalled, just thought it worth checking for folk. Hope it gets fixed.

Regards

[edit]PreSonus has confirmed the issue and logged it with their development team. They also recommend reaching out to Reveal Sound to ensure the plugin is fully tested with Studio One 7.2. Users are advised to check future updates for a possible fix.[/edit]

Hey Guys,

I've found a temporary solution! (yeah!)
It is all about a scaling issue with this plugin when you use the non-scaled UI of the plugin in a scaled OS envoirement. Let's say 200% windows, but 100% Spire.

What you have to do is, to right click at the buttom line of the plugin header. There where the Spire UI would begin. Right click there.
You will get the GUI Scale dialogue. There you choose 200%. Now you can open, close, reopen the Spire VST3 synth without any further issues.

best

@gerry2711:

I’ve edited this post because PreSonus support emails include a confidentiality notice. Please don’t publish full quotes or agent names from support messages unless you have explicit permission.

Summarizing the content in your own words is totally fine. Thanks for understanding!

Thanks @Ari for the workaround until Reveal fixes the Spire VST3.

So far I found that the VST3 works as long as you choose 150% or 200%.
If you choose 100% it only works temporarily but fails again when the plugin is closed.
The Spire VST2 works as expected at 100%.

Ah OK. Thx for testing this out guys.
