Summary of Spire GUI Issue in Studio One

I’ve recently experienced an issue where the Reveal SPIRE Ver 1.5.18 plugin’s GUI does not display in Studio One. Itdoesn’t show up at all.

Disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Studio One’s settings didn't help

What plugin "version" are you using and on what platform (Windows or Mac)?

If this is a Mac and you are using AU - consider using VST3 on the go forward.

thanks for your suppoert - I am working on Windows 11
- Latest Plugin-Version SPIRE Ver 1.5.18 - VST3 - in Cubase 14 (latest version) it works fine
in Studio One 7.1 it worked fine, too

If it worked in 7.1.1 - could be a bug. Suggest you start a ticket with support.

Spire 1.5.18 working OK on v7.2 here (Win 11). I did first have Spire version 1.5.17 that I then updated to 1.5.18 (VST3). Maybe reinstall Spire?

Same here. Spire not showing up. Glad that I´m still on 6.6.2.

Mine is working fine, Win 11 (22H2), S1 v7.2

I downloaded and installed a demo of SPIRE Ver 1.5.18.
I'm running Studio One Pro 7.2 with Windows 11 (24H2) and here's my results.

I confirmed that the GUI does not work for me with the VST3 version...
The GUI works for the VST2 version...

Had exactly the same experience as you, Trucky. I'm on the full version of Spire (not the demo), running 1.5.18 (VST3) on Windows 11 (latest build, AMD). The plugin loads and sound works fine, but the GUI doesn’t show—unlike in older projects. I’ve had to use the VST2 version to access the interface. I've started a support ticket and am waiting for a response.

Feel free to send them my screenshot results if you'd like.

Not the same.
Mine shows that VST3 version does not work but VST2 does in Studio One 7.2.

It must be something with the latest windows. I'm on Wi 11 (22h2) and all is working here

I was on 22h2, and it didn't work. Then upgraded to 24h2, still the same. It must be something else. Are you on AMD as well?

Yes, i`ve got an AMD-Card. RX 7900GRE.

Has this been reported to Reveal? The inference seems to be because the VST3 works in Cubase, or worked in S1 7.1, it must be a bug in 7.2. But there are posts about missing GUIs in Spire VST3 going back multiple update versions - lots with FLS. The Steiny VST3 SDK is horses*!t and full of vague guidelines that are murder especially for small developers. So I still have to use VST2 versions for a few plugs. 🤔

I remember reading a few blurbs in the last year or so where Presonus has (and continues) to tighten the SDK in s1 and that could now be exposing developers who have taken a few "liberties" here and there over the years.

If a GUI is appearing in an older VST2 but not in a VST3 - clearly this developer needs to address this. I do not think this is v7.2 specific.
