Songs don`t load correct with 64Bit Process Precision enabled since FSP v8.1

Or expectation bias - where you think it should be "better" because a little switch makes you think it should....

It's the same as buying a $400 dollar speaker cable and not being able to stop gushing at how great the audio sounds now :)

No, no. Not an expectation bias.
And to be honest i wouldnt be this kind of stupid buying such a cable.

From old SO:

  1. By default, Studio One’s process precision is set at Single (32-bit). If using Studio One Professional, you may choose double precision (64-bit) from the Process Precision drop-down menu.
It was a Pro Feature.

Still doesn't mean anything in the way of being "better" than Single 32bit.

The Beatles didn't need any process precision to create Revolver.

I say let it go and let's get back to the music.

But the Beatles only used 8 tracks on their master bus. I am not a beatlrs fan. They sound boring you know.

Just 4 tracks on Revolver

And on that note - time to exit.

You take care now.

Nur 4 Tracks auf Revolver

Und damit verabschieden wir uns.

Pass jetzt gut auf dich auf.

You too thanks. Btw. I just wanted to provocate you as a beatles fan just for fun to see how you react. Don't take it serious please 😂😂😂🤣 This record is around 60 years old. Most Beatles fans are likely retired or in the grave by now—and probably suffering from hearing loss—given how long ago that was. That is why I do not consider a direct comparison to be justified. With four tracks, there are fewer issues with the final mix than with 60 or more; a modern drum kit alone involves more than four tracks playing simultaneously.

Small update here: It turned out that disabling the VST3, VST2.4 and the ARA-Services did not fix the problem. The Support is contacted and looking into it.

Maybe it`s just my System. Hope not.

Regarding the menu: This just tells you that it wasn't fully loading the project. The shortened menu is what you get after startup, and the missing menus are added on load of a project. But you already knew it wasn't loading, so that doesn't help. But at least you now know that it is totally normal in this situation.

Regarding 64-bit: The audio engine gains a higher precision with it. The DAW is sending a number to your audio device, which is in the format -1.0 to +1.0, the number is called a sample and it is sent at sample rate: 48 kHz means 48000 samples per second. The 32-bit precision is 7 decimal digits and 64-bit precision is 15 decimal digits. Since the numbers are logarithmic, unless you need to hear a feather hitting the ground, you don't really lose much by running 32-bit, or gain much when using 64-bit. When offered, it should work of course, but hopefully this explanation tells you that it's not a big deal. However, your CPU will have double the load, when switching to 64-bit.

I'm interested in knowing the cause, so please keep us updated!
