Oh yee of little faith... The Track Notes bug is fixed and I've reworked the Tracks interface and some other stuff

Under the File menu there is a "Export Excel Workbook". The only thing "wrong" with the .CSV delimiting was the unexpected introduction through the mixer addition of a lot of semicolons which reigned chaos on the mixer part of the export. The workbook is the best solution I could come up with to deal with the volume of mixer data that might exist, especially in a large template. Before I build another version, take a look at this file and let me know if this gives you what you need. The are two tabs in the worksheet, if you click on the link it should open the mixer details tab.

The only niggle I have with the export is - you have the song title captured in several spots with the initial SL scan - please consider using it to name any actual export files that come out of SL.

Today during that CSV test - I ended up with this as my file name title:

Not exactly useful for ident or longer term storage.

SongLens v1.1 Release — Better Snapshots, Excel Export, and Track View Options

SongLens is a Windows application for browsing, searching, inspecting, and exporting the data from within your .song files. It reads the information stored inside your song files and presents it in a searchable catalog.

Version 1.1.0 is a substantial usability update.

Highlights include:

• New Excel Workbook export with linked Catalog and Mixer Details worksheets
• Multi-song snapshots in either List View or full Detail View
• Snapshot reports for every song in a folder or search result
• Snapshot-specific Track View options overrides
• Improved date sorting
• A visible progress indicator while SongLens builds or searches the catalog
• Better column handling for improved data visibility

Hey Doc!

So sorry for not responding to your PM on the weekend.

This weekend - WAS the weekend. I rebuilt the DAW from scratch and I am slowly (but surely) getting things sorted over here. It has been a journey - that is for sure.

One thing that I will say on the last build (1.0.10.5) was that the app does not take kindly to higher resolutions.

This week I (finally) added a 4k display to my studio (Samsung M7 43 inch Smart Monitor) and SongLens shows up like this at first launch:

All the UI elements are scrunched up against each other, menus are cut off etc.

Now - I did not spend a lot of time trying to remedy - I am running Windows 11 25H2 at 175% scaling (3840x2160) and outside of a couple of super old, super obscure hardware tools I use during a DAW build - pretty much everything else that I have come up against - looks normal on screen with these settings.

I am aware that I could right click the EXE, go into compatibility and HiPDI area and mess around a bit - and it may actually come around - but I thought I would show you what's up.

Will install the new v1.0.1 build later today and let you know how it goes.

Doc, if you ever get motivated to add some functionality, a way to rename songs would be very welcome. I imagine that it would only require renaming the folder and .song files but of course that's just a guess.

Thank you Doc. Great update, greatly appreciated! I am on W11, 25H2, and Songlens 1.1 works fine here on my 4K screen (32" Acer ET322QK at 150% scale factor). I was curious after reading VP's experience, so I increased the Scale Factor to 175% and SongLens scaled up accordingly. Looks great here. Also, fwiw, I can drag the Songlens window from my 4K screen to either of my 1920 x 1080 screens and back and Songlens adjusts perfectly.
