- The song is "sparkled" with what soon will be a virtual festival of short-duration, rapid in-and-out instruments and vocal sounds. "Billie Jean" (Michael Jackson) has over 150 "sparkles"; so my thinking is that with at least that many "sparkles" and a video where I moon walk, well it could rival "White Christmas" or "Frosty the Snowman". I augmented the kick drum with a bass drum to give it more texture and a tympani type of downward portamento tail.

This is the first mix of my new Christmas song, "Some Times I Sing A Song" (Surf.Whammy).
[NOTE: As the song develops and I do more mixes, I will add them as replies rather than start a new topic for each one. ]
As I tend to do these days, the instruments and "sparkles" were developed over a week or so; but I did the voice-over and singing one time for each verse, and then redid a few words, followed by editing the voice-overs and singing to adjust timing.
There is space in the middle of the song for a melodic instrument or something, which I will add soon once I decide what it will be.
The lyrics appeared over a few minutes a few weeks ago; but then I made a handful of revisions, where for example "While enjoying a glass of egg nog and a Cuban cigar" became "While I sip a glass of egg nog and watch the Christmas Star", mostly because my sisters will play it for my nieces and nephews and would holler at me for including "a Cuban cigar"--an edit and lyric change which I suppose makes the song more family friendly.
I was tempted to keep the Cuban cigar and change "egg nog" to bourbon, but that would get me in even more trouble.
The singing generally is correct melodically, but I probably will adjust it with Melodyne.
There is a long lag time when I am recording voice-overs and vocals; so I move the SONY MDR-7506 headphones off my ears and for the most part cannot hear the instruments or what I am saying or singing, which makes any of it "on key" entirely due to serendipity.
I added some sleigh bells, and there are additional instruments I plan to add to make it a bit more in the style of a Christmas song.
