Solved Sidechain not working when soloing bus/track

Heya guys,

Every time I solo a bus or track (say Bass bus) which is receiving a sidechain input into a compressor from the kick the compressor is no longer receiving the sidechain input and no longer compresses.

I'm sure in the previous versions of S1 the sidechain would still send it's signal even though I only had audio from the soloed channel / bus.

The track or bus that is sending the sidechain appears not muted or soloed and does not send any signal

This is REALLY slowing me down printing stems for mastering

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the Forum!

Please update your signature (see link and example in mine) with your system specs.

It's difficult to respond to questions without this information.

A screenshot that shows what you're describing would also help.

Set the Kick (or any other) track used for sidechain to Solo Safe (Shift + click the Solo Button so it turns green).

Yes, "Solo Safe" the Kick channel (which is the side-chain source to the Bass) will solve the issue.

Solo Safe

Thank you guys!

Okay this is making more sense now, just had a play with this and it seems that I do a lot of sidechains from a drum bus (but filter the higher transients out) but soloing or even 'Solo Safe'ing the bus is not enough (as the source channel is muted still).

So as you've said I need to Solo safe the origin of the SC i.e. the kick

Appreciate you clearing this up for me
