I had a Roland A 880 midi patch bay.
There was a JLCooper MIDI patch bay in the cabinet's left rack. It had a red panic button.

The whole rack was controlled by an ADA MC-1 MIDI footswitch. Under the MidiVerb is a modified ADA MP-1 MIDI-controlled tube guitar preamp. It has an all analog signal path, including a luscious analog chorus. I could do a whole post on the innards of that beauty. It's the only thing I have left of all of these. - SGW

Here's where things were at until about 2 months ago, when I dismantled the guitar rack. That's the one on top.

Just for fun, here's where we were in 1975 in a Connecticut basement. (You could be crossing over a bridge into Manhattan in an hour and 15 minutes.) What you don't see is the gear! An Acoustic 371 that Peter's bass is plugged into. I'm plugged into a 100 W Marshall. We also had an Altec PA, a Teac A-3340s, and a couple of mics. My ES-340 is actually walnut.

We worked overtime in factories to get money for gear. Ever do double shifts for a week? Or work the back 12 in a textile plant 7 days a week for 3 weeks? I picked up garbage, operated a plastics press on 3rd shift with the town drunks, and spent endless hours working under the sun. Here's a partial list of some of the people whose lawns I helped mow: Vladmir Horowitz, Arthur Miller (Marilyn Monroe's husband), William Styron, Alexander Calder (He worked in his garage and driveway.), Richard Widmark (His wife made us cookies and iced tea.), Sylvia Sydney... I worked for 10 years and then went to engineering school. Lots of dues paid.
