Session Start Time Confusion

Hi! New user here, but experienced composer migrating from Cubase. Using the latest version on Windows (first 8.1, then recently 8.1.1)

Trying to wrap my head around the implementation of session start time in Fender Studio Pro 8.1. No matter what I set session start to (a common need amongst film composers) the timeline still starts at 00:00:00:00 (see attached screens).

The only way I can get the timeline to change its start time, in fact, is if I change the frame offset, which too seems to ignore the session start time but at least honors the offset. Is this a bug or a feature I'm not understanding?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I have to answer briefly, as I’m currently on tour. The Session Start/End options only define the positions of the Start and End markers. You can use them to mark the start and the end of your session’s content.

When you export your session, you can choose the Start and End markers as the export range:

It sounds like what you're actually looking for is Session → Set Time Offset to Cursor or Set Frames at Cursor.
