Routing one or more VSTs in a multi-instrument to multiple tracks

Hi,

I( did search before asking this.)

I have a multi-instrument that consists of:

• SSD5 Drums, with routing set successfully to mixer channels 1-12
• Royotoms VST
• Impact preset

I find that if I set up a track with just an SSD5 Drums preset, not a multi-instrument, I can route it to multiple mixer channels as shown in this video

However, if I add that preset to a multi-instrument, I seem to lose that ability.

Can it be done, and if so, can you advise how? Thanks.
