QWERTY keyboard took over Caps Lock

All of a sudden, clicking caps lock brings up the qwerty keyboard (clicking again makes it go away) In order to get capitalized letters, I have to use shift+caps. Even if I remove the keyboard as an external device, it comes right back. All advice is welcome; thanks.
