Quantum HD users: got a question for you

I already bought a Studio One Pro 7 license back in Jan 2025 and recently bought a Quantum HD8 which - clearly stated in the Presonus website - comes with

- a 1 year subscription to Studio One Pro + and a perpetual license once the sub has expired.

To my understanding this means a new Studio One Pro 7 serial like any other software.

But it seems that, according to the Presonus support which honestly doesn't seem to be that aware of the products they're selling since the previous support person told me the HD8 didn't come with neither of those. Once I sent him the actual screenshot of the actual Presonus webstie (lol) then he's been substituted by someone else who told me: if you already have a copy of Studio One 7 Pro, you do NOT get a new serial but the 1 year subscription gets associated with your existing account.

Which means that you only get a 1 year subscription but this also means no new perpetual license. Which is not what's advertised.

Do you experience the same situation?
I assume you already had a copy of Studio One when you bought the HD, did you get another serial for S17 Pro after you registered the unit?

(in case you're wondering what would I do with a second license, I want to give to a friend who's starting into music production)

My hardware registrations have me additional months of subscription, just like support explained to you. If you want to "give" the licence away, you'd have to register the hardware to another account and give that away. The licence that comes with the hardware is tied to that hardware through this account. I don't mean you have to use the hardware, but the registration is tied to the account.

I did do that with a friend a couple of years ago. it was worse than pulling teeth (for my friend). He spent
way more time with support than it should have taken. My friend keep after
it with support and Finally after much back and forth got it going for him.
