Quantize moving an extra step

What is going on here?
I have this....

....and expect a simple Quantize to 16th grid will move the blue circled notes slightly to the right to snap to the closest grid line, and the rest would stay right where they are (or move imperceptibly to their very close grid lines)
Instead this happens.....

With ALL the notes moving to the Right by an entire 1/16 plus whatever else is necessary to get the notes to the next closest grid line to the right which does not make any logical sense to me.

I'm sure the answer must be something obvious to Studio One veterans, but I am apparently not one yet....

.....Ok. Wait, what??? So there's this from the illustrious Craig. So I'm in good company, because that is what was the problem.
But...... really? "Freeze Quantize" ??
Never heard of it, nor experienced anything like it by default in any other DAW/MIDI editor.
So by default Quantize acts on the original position of the MIDI notes, no matter how long ago they were created and no matter if they've been changed however many times in the interim!.....unless you "Freeze Quantize" first !!
This from the manual about the use of Freeze Quantizel: "It is sometimes very helpful to make note quantization permanent so you can quantize again based on the current quantized positions"
"Sometimes"??? I quite assume that my notes' current positions will always be what is being acted on with a Quantize command.

All in all, that is bloody abstruse, if you will pardon my Latin.

Anyway, now I know. And so do you. Unless you already did. Can't imagine to whom that makes sense by default....
