TLDR: Make sure pipeline isn't in "Setup mode" by ensuring the wrench icon at the top is not activated after pressing the auto button to sort out the delay compensation.
Hey folks -- I had to share this...am a bit embarrassed but sharing in case someone else is having an issue with connecting hardware via pipeline. In hindsight, it is SO obvious...I'm a long time S1 user (well, since version 3) and consider myself fairly knowledgable in the works of S1. However, but this was my first hardware compressor and time using pipeline...
What went down:
I spent the better part of 2 hours trying to figure out why my hardware compressor wasn't working correctly. I checked the inputs, repeatedly, checked the outputs....set up the IO....I did everything. Followed several tutorials -- everything seemed to check out. All looked good.
I then opened up pipeline -- and that is where it really went to hell.
I pressed the "auto button" to send a signal for any delay compensation. And over and over, I'd see no input or output signal. I checked my signal flow over and over to no avail.
What I DID NOT realize was that by pressing "auto" I put pipeline in set up mode. If the wrench icon is orange, like in my attachment photo...it's not going to work.
Solution:
Simply needs to PRESS THE WRENCH BUTTON so it turns grey and it exits setup mode. Boom -- everything working flawlessly as expected.
I honestly didn't find this particularly intuitive...I was so focused on the signal chain that I missed this simple thing.
I hope if anyone is having pipeline issues...please check that you aren't in setup mode.
Wish everyone the best -- and anyone new to this... please keep this in mind if setting up hardware with pipeline.
