PreSonus Hub - what does it do?

I seem to have misunderstood either what Presonus Hub does, or how to use it.
I thought that it provides a wrapper to Presonus Native plugins, so they can be used elsewhere, and has no bearing on Studio One native plugins themselves.
I had Presonus Hub installed and all my various S1 plugins installed and activated in S1, and also in Presonus Hub. I was able to see Cinematic Lights, Ampire, etc in Pro Tools as "Wrapped PlugIns". So far, so good.

I decided to remove all of these plugins from Presonus Hub as I didn't want them to appear in PT (I only use them in S1, so there was no point in cluttering up the mayhem that is PT's plugin lists).
The end result is that I've lost all of these plugins in S1 - and the SoundSets themselves seem to have been deleted, meaning another 12 hours of downloading....
(Meanwhile, PT still thinks they exist, but that's a whole different story).

So - what should I have done to remove these wrapped versions without removing the actual Native S1 plugins?

PreSonus Hub allows you to download and install various PreSonus plug-ins for use in the DAW of your choice!

Shown here is Cinematic Lights running in Ableton Live.

Yes, using PreSonus Hub to uninstall the plugins and soundsets removes them from Studio One and you'll need to use Studio One to download and reinstall them.

What you should have done instead was uninstall PreSonus Hub.
I'm on Windows 11 so for me I just use the Windows uninstaller.

Thanks Trucky. Given that PresonusHub appears to be dedicated to providing access to S1 plugs in other hosts, then it should, IMHO, be used to remove that access too, rather than remove the SoundSets/plugins themselves, which you can do inside S1. Selectively removal would also potentially be useful.

Either way, it is what it is. Lesson learned.
Thanks for your response.

I agree that it's a bit confusing. I was surprised to see that the Hub still exists - I thought it had been retired when Sphere was rebranded!

Presonus really need to streamline their downloads. You can download and install stuff from MyPresonus, from Hub and within Studio One itself. Each of these routes offer slight different things. I'm sure one of the three could be dispensed with.

After installing all your Studio One Soundsets back up the entire folder with them all in onto an external drive. Then if they do get erased for any reason you can much more quickly copy them back and simply point Studio One to where they are and they will all be back on line.
