possible to create backingtrack?

Hiya,

Is it possible to create a backingtrack, in Studio One 7, out of an mp3 ?
If so, how?

greetings

I use Windows 11
Studio One 7 Pro
Fender stratocaster

It depends a bit on what you want. If it's just an existing mp3 you want to be able to play from SO, just drag in into the arranger..

What I mean by that is, how to make a backingtrack out of an mp3, like Guns n roses - November rain ( just an example, not specific this song)

You got the correct answer. Drag your file directly onto the arrangement. So your screen would look like fp8 to one side, Windows Explorer to the other. Once you drage the file in, it will be converted into a Wav file so that the audio within it is no longer compressed. Place the backing track where you want. You're now prepared to add new tracks as you go along.

What's the purpose of this backing track? (practise, rehearse, perform, release, ...) and what needs to be in it and what not? (drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keys, backing vocals, lead vocal, ...). For like $3 you can get a multi-track backing track for nearly every popular song, for you to use it for all but making money off it (like live performance or releasing music).

You can try this one. Their custom backing tracks are quite good for practise. Get all the tracks including the metronome track, to line things up nicely in S1/SP.

Thanks, but most of those songs are for guitar only and the most known,
its for my lapsteel guitar and guitar,
Pink floyd - Shine on you crazy diamond part VI - VIII
that is part for lapsteel and ending with guitar
Why its so hard to find, is because Im looking for a Live version, the one of 'Remember that night'.

Hi
For me, it depends on whether I'm practicing a specific song or composing my own song. If practicing a specific song and performance of it, I usually get the mp3, then bring it into Moises. That application then splits it into different tracks. I then mute the guitar track or lower the volume of it so that I can practice. So I normally don't even use studio pro for practicing on a known performance. I realize studio pro also splits into tracks, but I have had better results with Moises.
I have also heard positive reviews of Jamzone, which produces amazing quality backing tracks, but I have not personally used that.

For making my own original song backing tracks, that's a different story involving Studio Pro and some other tools.
