Plugin visibility

I deactivate the visibility of plugin vendors by unchecking these names in the plugin manager to get some more overview in the plugin browser, but unfortunately the deactivated plugin category is still visible in the browser.
Why?

I just want to make some plugin folders in the browser invisible, because it's a bit overcrowded. I know that I can delete them, but that's not what I want, just make them invisible. Maybe I need them in future times.

I just tried it - and I agree, empty folders should be hidden in "Folder" view.

I filed a feature request internally.

It's not about empty folders, but folders ,which content is seldom used. I want to make these folders invisible, but it's seems that's not possible.
Generally I have a big problem to organize my plugins in FSP. I don't like to see a overcrowded list of folders and plugins. The favorite tab isn't really a big help. I would like to have a short list of customized folders, in which I can have my most used plugins and a container for alle the rest, which are seldom used.
Is this possible?

But that's exactly what you said:

When all plug-ins in this folder are hidden, the folder is (at least visibly) empty.

Oh, sorry. That was not what I meant. I didn't deactivate the plugins but the folders by unchecking them in the plugin manager. But I understand now that this has nothing to do with the visibility in the browser.

You could (mis)-use the "favorites"-folder to create your own additional list of plugins and subfolders.
I personally use it just to have all my plugins sorted by category as well as by vendor in the same view...
