Order of Tools

Hello Fellow Composers,

I recently noticed that the tool order in the for the track view and the midi editing are different. It was never an issue but the new tools make me use the paint tool more frequently for the chrods. However, I spent a lot of time in the midi editing and am very used to get the paint tool by pushing 3.

For the track view it is 5, which causes a lot of hickups... :(

It appears that only the relative tool position can be mapped to a shortcut.

so if 3 and 5 are switched, it works in the track view but is messed up in midi editing.

So long story short:
Is there any way to switch the tool order or is there any way to assign the paint to another key?

thanks in advance.

Thats sad to hear. Butt after the middle mouse button drag I have hopes :D

Also I found this (and a whole repository of scripts) https://csources.github.io/Studio-Pro-Scripting-API-Reference/docs/scripts/unified-tool-selector#how-it-works that I have bookmarked but not tried. Looks really useful. No information about the source/author (AI assisted) > Anyone try it? Maybe the creator is a forumite?
Thanks, will check maybe later. But its not such a turn down, that I want to install 3rd party plugins tbh :)

The scripts are created by AI. Nothing wrong with trying it but it can cause unexpected behavior if certain edge causes are not considered by the script.

It basically remaps the command that is triggered depending on the current context (Arrangement/ Music Editor etc.).
