No gain envelope after invoking Melodyne

I am using Melodyne to correct a pitchy vocal. I duplicate the track (to preserve the unedited vocal), apply Melodyne to the duplicate track with Ctrl-M. Now there is no gain envelope, as selected via right-click. I need to use gain envelope to raise the volume of certain sections and turn down part where there is no singing. Any help would be appreciated.

Melodyne takes the event portions of a track's underlying file to outside SP, does its thing, and then returns a file to SP to replace the track's file. To incorporate gain envelopes in the Melodyne input/output you have to bounce the track first.

Can I adjust the gain envelopes, bounce and then Melodyne or Melodyne first, bounce and then change gain envelopes? I will experiment later. I am not in the studio right now.

I'd recommend nailing the gain envelopes first, then applying Melodyne. You can always revisit the tuning-corrected Event if you need to edit the gain further.
