Native VST receive audio feature?

Is there a possibility this may be added someday? Does anyone else need this as much as I do? Studio One does not natively allow VST instruments to receive audio in the same way as Ableton or Other DAW's like Reaper, FL Studio etc..

What specific way is that?
(VST's obviously receive audio otherwise there would be nothing to output).

VST instruments ...

Mainly full integration with VST plugin's like Elektron Overbridge for my digitakt 2 integration and auto sampling features of the TX16WX sampling plugin for starters. It just seems like this is a standard feature of most DAW's out there and it would be a "nice to have" for Fender Pro 8

More Context:

Studio One’s lack of native audio sidechaining/routing for VST instruments (unlike Ableton or Reaper) limits sound design flexibility, such as using vocoders or synth vocoders directly. This creates complex routing setups, disrupts workflow efficiency, and restricts complex audio-reactive modulation compared to DAWs with native, direct audio-to-instrument routing.
Main Downsides:
  • Complex Routing for Vocoders & Effects: Using a synth as a vocoder or adding sidechain audio to a VST instrument (e.g., shaping a synth with a gate triggered by audio) requires complex multi-channel routing workarounds that are natively simple in Ableton/Reaper.
    Reddit +1
  • Workflow Inefficiency: Setting up, routing, and managing auxiliary channels for routing audio into a VST plugin consumes valuable production time, preventing a seamless, fast workflow.
    Gearspace +1
  • Limited Creative Sound Design: The lack of straightforward audio-to-instrument routing inhibits the ability to use external audio signals to modulate or shape synth presets rapidly.
  • Inconsistent Sidechain Performance: Some users report that sidechaining can be inconsistent in Studio One.
  • Orphan Tracks: Users on Facebook have complained about a design issue where instrument tracks and channels can become unlinked, causing orphans, which may be aggravated by complex routing.

While Studio One has advanced significantly in routing, this specific area can make it less flexible for complex, modular-style sound design sessions.

Don't get me wrong... I Love Fender 8 and have been using Studio One since version 3. However, I now have to use Reaper on certain projects for it's extensive sidechain / VST routing options that Fender Studio does not yet provide.

VST instruments ...

So he wants to squirt in audio to VST instruments I guess via sidechain in a simpler manner.

Edited.

If you quote AI then at least don't pretend it's your wording or reasoning (even if English is not your first language).

Facts are facts, does not matter where they come from. Initially, I researched several other forum's and also spoke to support from both Overbridge and TX16WX, who informed me of the lack of this feature in Studio Pro. So, why exactly does it matter if I use AI to organize my thoughts on this??? Regardless, thank you for your input. In addition, I am not pretending, I USE AI...

So what is your suggestion in detail to fix this from being "less complex" in specific detail from studio pro?

We all know the issues you stated, and we all know you would like it to be like a particular DAW.

If you could just be very simple, specific and clear about it.

Sure, one use case is that I do a lot of auto play resampling of patches. Specifically from my Virus TI2 patches into the TX16WX sampler VST so I can then do complex editing for custom sounds and loops. The sample editing final productions then go into Sample One and Impact where they eventually are worked into my beats and loops. TX16WX VST requires the ability of the DAW to allow audio to be routed into their VST3. There is no such routing capability in Studio Pro. I am investigating a possible sidechain "Ghost" method to accomplish this. I was just curious if I was the only one in the forum that had this on a feature wish list. It seems like it may be a very niche feature. Reaper, Abelton, FL Studio, Logic pro and others have this routing capability, I would prefer to keep my work flow exclusively inside Studio Pro instead of another DAW. I also have a Digitakt 2 Sampler used with Overbridge. The use cases for this are many. Also requiring the DAW to have audio routing input into a VST3.
