You can receive this data but you can't record this data including the separate channels - it will be recorded to one MIDI channel since Studio One does not support OMNI MIDI channels for instrument tracks.
What does that mean that SP receives midi data on separate channels? I want to use the multi channel plugin Halion Sonic. Is it possible that this instrument on one track receives midi data on more than one channel ?
Do you want to receive MIDI data (from a MIDI controller) or do you want to actually send it (to a multitimbral instrument like HALion Sonic). If it's the latter, then you want to set the MIDI output channel, not the input.
You can set the MIDI channel on which data on your instrument track should be sent to HALion Sonic. Then add another track and set a different MIDI CH. This way, each instrument track can play a different instrument inside HALion Sonic.
I want the latter. So it seems that I have to use many instances of Halion Sonic to get a kind of multi channel playback. I hopened that I could have one instance on one track and playback on this on a few midi channels ( like it is possible in Cubase) .
