Massaging MIDI notes

Does anyone have any ideas/scripts that would help with the following very simple example:

I have a group of quantized notes that were played in from a keyboard.

and I would like to select a group of notes and remove the space between the 16th notes so they would play legato

The notes were not evenly spaced to start with so changing the timestretching the track didn't seem to work. As an amateur musician, I waste so much time adjusting Midi notes like this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

To be honest, and I know this is only one example, but highlight all, extend the leading group until they form a legato. Click the 2nd note and extend, click 3rd note extend. Done.

I understand you could have a bunch of notes, making need for some script. A few guys here might very well have one, so hang tight.

Thanks for the suggestion. It helps some, but you're right that, assuming there is no other method I've overlooked, this would really require a script to do it right.

Oh, I'm real good at labor intensive. 😃
I take it, you looked at Lukas' video on the legato note? At around 2:24 he goes into it, but view the whole video. Of course your sound library will best enhqnce legato, or it won't. This video isnt based on using a script, but more of an awareness on using Alt + drag the leading edge of a note to move legato. It helped me because I didn't know it even existed.

I know the video doesn't answer your initial question, so let's see if that gets off the ground, of course. I thought the video may aid in some way, until then.

Personally, and MMV of course, but it's my guess a script for legato is just sort of a lazy use of something that you should want to articulate by adjusting notes separately. No? Lazy, not being the best word, but you get the idea. Just my take on it is all.
Are you using this for orchestration? EDM? Other?

One more idea: the Length command includes a legato option. There's also a 'Legato' group in the Music Editing Toolbar:

The buttons and menus in this toolbar are essentially just macros that make use of the Length command, but they’re more accessible if you find yourself using legato adjustments frequently
