Making a female voice annoying/high pitched/unpleasant but still natural

Hello, I am a total beginner to editing audio... I have a project where I need to record a lot of voice over clips and I also need to learn how to edit them. One female character has to come across as really annoying (nagging/not pleasant to listen to). have searched "how to videos using EQ" and played around a little but did not get any good results. I do not want the voice to sound cartoonish, it needs to be a natural, annoying voice :)

I believe it is a little too technical for me at this stage and would love some ideas on how to achieve this result. Broken down in very easy steps. Once I have the desired setting I wish to use this this setting for all the other sections where this character appears and I believe I can create a "layer" or "filter" that I can then just drag and drop over the clip? Grateful for any support given. Thanks!

Hard to say without a soundbite. In general you can't boost what isn't there, so the voice must have something slightly unpleasant to start with. I'd listen for something resonant in the voice and work on that, maybe using distortion and/or transposing and lots of filtering. Take a recording of a similar but annoying voice and study it to find out what makes that voice unpleasant. Which frequencies need to be toned down to make it more pleasant, and by how much?

Hey, thank you for your reply! I recorded the voice with a annoying tone to start with so that is no problem but I do not want it to sound like my own basically. You mention "distortion and/or transposing and lots of filtering". As a complete beginner to audio editing can you recommend a step by step tutorial for these settings? I would not even know where to start..... Thanks!

You will have to work this out yourself I'm afraid, me not knowing what you have and where you want to end up with it. Not wanting to sound like yourself either maybe find a voice changer app/plug-in?
