Major problems..

Hello all,
I am starting the process of getting back into recording, and I just hooked up my old AudioBox1818VSL, installed StudioOne V2, and am stuck trying to activate my account. I created one online, my.fender.com (???? That was new to me..) and I entered the serial number and it did detect it. But for the life of me I cannot use my damn audio interface. Does anyone have any advise? Thanks

Welcome to the forum, Arturo.

Have you installed the Universal Control application? That's what I use with my Presonus Studio 1824c, which is similar to your AudioBox 1818VSL. Here's a link to it: Universal Control

Thank you very much for your response Stuart! I did install Universal Control, but now for some reason (it was happening before too) The USB sync light on the AudioBox goes to red before I can update the firmware. If it's not one thing, it's two others! ;)
Do you know what that is about? I tried connecting it to every USB connection that there is, and it always goes red. Also has a pulsing sound in the monitors..

From the top of my head several years ago UC stopped including drivers for interfaces that use VSL. You can check the current version of UC if your interface is still listed. If not then you will need an older driver installer (UC 1.7.6?) for your 1818VSL, which is hopefully still compatible with your computer and OS.

The USB sync light stayed blue long enough to update the firmware, but now it just goes red immediately! So ya, that didn't work..

Thank so much for your help SwitchBack!
How do I download that old driver?

I'm not 100% sure about that version number so ideally someone who has or used to have an 1818VSL chimes in. He/She may also still have a copy of the last working driver installer. The PreSonus website that used to have all the legacy stuff was terminated unfortunately.

ufff how frustrating, no? I appreciate the help from you guys. I guess Im just stuck with a red USB sync light for now.. On the UC, my interface 1818VSL is listed as being supported...

Maybe this helps to make some sense out of the situation. The page also links to the Support Documents and Downloads site where the 1818VSL can be found amongst the discontinued products.

Thanks for the link SwitchBack. I understand a little more now. It seems it is talking mostly about MAC, and I have Win 11. But it doesn't really matter, since the concepts are the same.. What I gathered is that I won't be able to use the software mixer (the VSL), but it says I can control the AudioBox manually from the computer?? Problem is, the AudioBox USB sync light is just stuck on pulsating red. It's actually worse now than when I started this morning!!lol
