Looking for someone to mix / master my Studio One songs

I am new to the forum. I have been using Studio One for a few years and love to compose original music with and without vocals—strictly amateur. I would like to hire someone to mix/master who also uses Studio One. Do you have any suggestions? I was looking on Fiverr, but I would rather find a fellow Studio One user. Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks! No, I never finished it. Do you mix and master? I like to record, but I don't have the time to finalize a mix and then master it.
Master as you mix? It's sounds like you are doing that already or partially. You could create a Project Page, send song to Project
then use Mastering Tools inside Project Page. I know you say time is limited but there are great videos online to show you how to
use the Project page. Leaning this may really help you out. If you see it's not going to work then back to original:
Master as you mix. I believe there are folks that can help with Mastering your song(s) but it could could expensive unless
cost is not an issue. Good Luck!! Hope it all works out for you

I'm hoping AI will get better at mixing and mastering because I don't really enjoy that aspect of the game and I'm not great at it either. It feels like something AI could be really good at. There are already tools that do it but they are not yet good enough, especially at mixing.

Mixing is at least as much a creative process as it is a technical skill. I do not think AI will be able to come up with good mixes, as it will not come up with good music.

Mixing can be creative but it very often is not. If you are trying to fit in with a specific genre many of the mixing "rules" will be fixed, whether it be bringing the drums forward, the vocal, the guitar or whatever. There will always be space for individual mixing but in the coming years I think we'll see AI being able to handle much of the task, especially the basic stuff like levels, panning and EQ. And I'm looking forward to that!

AI is in its infancy and it is going to improve very quickly. It can already write songs, complete with lyrics and vocals. Yes, those songs are derivative but so are many of the songs humans write, because we're all influenced by years of listening to music. The difference with AI is that it has listened to pretty much everything. In a few years it will be difficult to identify an AI written song. I'm certain that there are already AI elements in use in the industry.

I'm just glad I'm not trying to make a living at it, because sites like Suno are going to make it very hard for new songwriters to break into the industry.

(Sorry for the downbeat tone. I'll get me coat...)

Being a life sound engineer / an alive sound engineer, I'm not that sure some super computer will eventually take over my job. Just as I think the added value of a performance by a human being with all its intricacies and imperfections will outshine any generated music. It's the difference between creating and generating that gives the human being its advantage. But hey, who am I. I might be a cylon toaster after all. So say we all.

About mixing being creative, surely most of the commercial mixes we hear nowadays aren’t. But that is not all the music there is. Extend your range of knowledge of what was and is produced, and you’ll hear the difference.

You are probably most right about AI. But at the time we are speaking, one can hear a huge difference between real and AI mixer/artist.

In the end AI will always be a tool and nothing else. If everyone use AI the same way, you would still make your money by using it better, that is, more creatively than the others do.
Listeners need for human touch will never end. In the digital world we live in, live performances are still highly demanded.

What about posting all the tracks somewhere, inviting forumites to do a mix, and linking to the results in a Made in Studio One thread? I think it would be fun to compare and contrast.

My book "Mixing & Mastering with Cubase SX/SL" from 2003 included a CD with the same song mixed by 24 people. It was fascinating!! There were so many ways to approach the mix, and all of them were valid.
