Limiting The Sound Sets at Studio One Loading?

Is there a way to bypass or limit the sound sets that load when first starting Studio One? I am 100% positive I will never use most of the included instruments, as my needs are very simple: actual drum sounds, a couple of acoustic and electric pianos, occasional strings. There just is no reason to have all the synths, samplers, etc laking up space and resources when they will never be used.

Think of it like SO is a high tech tape machine with some external higher end MIDI devices wired in...kind of like we/they did in the early 90s.

They don't load when FSP starts. FSP scans the location you configure so the choices can be presented for use later.

The easiest approach would be to move the installed soundsets you don't want to use out of the configured folder to speed up the scan.

Yep - as Bob notes - if you don't want them - uninstall them so they are not scanned.

For me no soundsets are scanned at all at startup. (except occasionally the presets are for some reason, which I generally bypass. Is it a presets scan the OP is actually referring to) The soundsets are simply all there when I go to the tab and decide to use them. So I believe there is no reason to remove unwanted soundsets at all. However removing unwanted soundsets would speed up the process of the presets scan when it happens. Maybe moving unwanted soundsets to a different location might work as you could still access them maybe. ie do not include the unwanted soundsets location in the paths for scanning etc..Or do they have to be included?

Something is up with your install then. I have a definite soundset scan at each startup - and the exact number of sound sets I have in my sound sets folder - is exactly what appears in SP.

If you have soundsets present but no scan at all going on - not sure what is going on there.

But what happens every now and then is the presets are scanned for some reason. Which I usually bypass and the bypass is instant eg it stops the preset scan and keeps booting up.
