Instrument/fx : The track was made with Omnisphere, foley recordings, and a few simple sounds. I also used Pro EQ, FabFilter Pro-Q 4, Valhalla Room, and Fender Flanger to shape the space and texture.

I’d like to share my track “Jakten på ingenting” — which roughly translates to “The Hunt for Nothing”.

It is a quiet ambient piece about having no expectations. Not waiting for a melody, a drop, or any big movement, but simply being present and feeling the everyday moment as it is.

“Jakten på ingenting” was released on my album on July 1st.

I have a suggestion that has nothing to do with the music (which is fine). Monetizing a YouTube channel requires a certain amount of subscribers and view time. There are many YouTube content creators who do ambient music that supposedly helps people sleep, or rewire their brains, or whatever. These videos often last for six to ten hours and many have black screens, so you don't even need to create a serious video. This is a quick way to pick up view time to monetize a channel.

For example, I have more than enough subscribers and views to monetize my channel, but posting a 2 or 3 minute song every few months doesn't rack up enough view time. Although I'd prefer to emphasize quality over quantity, I'm strongly considering adding some ambient, sleep-oriented, multi-hour pieces of music to increase view time.

Thanks, Craig. That’s an interesting suggestion. I hadn’t really considered the watch-time side of ambient music. I’ve mainly thought of my tracks as music to listen to rather than sleep content, but creating a longer piece or an extended ambient journey could actually fit quite naturally with what I’m doing. Definitely something to think about. Thanks for listening and for the idea!
