Importing tempo map from midi event

Hi everyone, just got back into FSP with the 8.1 upgrade. I've tried to import a freely performed+tempo mapped midi event from Cubase into FSP by drag and drop into the tempo track in FSP, however only the first tempo point is reflected in FSP tempo track ( I.e. no subsequent tempo change). I remember it was working back with version 5.5. Would appreciate any pointers.

Also, if anyone know of a way to do tempo mapping for freely performed midi event directly in FSP? So far only audio event can be tempo mapped, I tried converting midi to audio and map from there , but it turns out only the audio event is aligned to the new tempo, not the midi event.

Appreciate any help. Cheers.

I vaguely remember something about setting the timebase of the track to seconds rather than beats before import. Could be completely wrong though.
