Importing Markers from MixPre II

New member
I Record live music using the Sound Devices MixPre II. When importing those files into Studio One, I don't get the Cue Markers.
This was not a problem in Cakewalk. The MixPre II embeds the markers with the WAV file. Is there a way in for Studio One to extract the
Marker track from the wave file to display the timing markers? I really Like Studio One except for this.

Welcome to the Forum!

I'm not familiar with Sound Devices MixPre II so I checked out their website and didn't see Studio One in the list of supported 32-bit float applications. Here's the link I found regarding this information...

Supported 32-Bit Float Applications

Have you contacted Sound Devices support yet regarding this?

If not, I'd recommend starting there to see if they've been in contact with PreSonus.

Thanks for responding
I did contact Sound Devices and they said markers can only imported as a MIDI file. separate from the WAV file.
the MixPre II embeds it in the WAV. When I asked why I can get the markers to import with Cakewalk, I got no response.
How do I contact someone at Sound Devices about writing an Import Option to extract the marker data from the WAV
file to display? The Sound Devices is a popular location recorder. I think this would be useful to a lot of users.

Don't you mean how to contact someone at PreSonus?

If so, you can submit a Support Ticket (see link in my signature).

You can also submit a Feature Request at the following link...

I know that Studio One allows you to save tempo (map) data with the WAV files, but I can't recall markers saved with WAV files. That would imply that you also can't drag a track with that WAV file onto Studio One's marker track to load the metadata (as is possible with the tempo track). But it's worth a try.
