Import personalized browser "folder" list of FX and instruments, and Track Presets, from older computer

I'm replacing the studio computer I built 13 years ago (yea more speed and RAM!) and am having trouble importing the Instrument and FX Browser folder arrangements I created. I can't find where those lists are located on the old computer.

I also can't get FSP to recognized the Track Presets "user" folder I created for the Browser. That folder was easy to find on the old computer, and I've tried copying it to the various places on the new machine I found where the "Audio" and "Hybrid" folders, but FSP simply doesn't recognize it's in any of those.

Thanks in advance for any help you've got.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Before we investigate further: Did you do "Re-Index Presets" on the Home tab of the Browser? The internal preset database has to be updated when preset files or folders are changed from outside the program.

Lukas, thanks for the suggestion. I know I "refreshed" within the FX and Instrument tabs but did not re-index (would not have even thought of that). When I installed FSP it of course created the main folder on the "C" drive, which I've always moved to a separate ("E") drive -- in large part because s1/FSP require the location of the "Songs" be the same as macros, presets, etc. and I want the songs on a different folder than the OS.

Anyway, to confirm, should the Track Presets go in the Fender folder on the C drive or the E drive in this situation.

Thanks again and I'll report back.

Yes, these are two different things. Refresh wouldn't re-scan any presets from disk.

There's only one User Data Location which you can look up (and set) in the Options. The correct location for user Track Presets is [User Data Folder]/Presets/User Presets/Track Presets.

So in your case, you need to put it into the correct sub folder in your User Data Folder - probably on your E drive (given that's set correctly in the Options).

My "E" is the equivalent of your "D" drive above; but I do have two locations, not one -- the original one set up on the "C" drive when I installed, but I'm ignoring that for now.

Thanks again for the rapid response. And re-installing Harmony Wizard later today to almost finish the transfer to the new machine!

Sounds good. I'm not trying to be nitpicky, but there is only one user data location. FSP may have created a default location on your system drive, but once you changed it in Options to the E: drive, that became your new (and only) user data folder.

👍 Don't forget to activate it with the credentials (email address + license key) from your inital Harmony Wizard purchase email after installation.

Wizard installation failed. Instead of clogging up a forum thread, is it preferred to privately send a description of the steps taken and screenshots of the results?

Thanks.

No - I don’t offer private support, especially since most issues and possible causes have usually already been discussed in the forum. Please feel free to open a new thread including the screenshots and steps!

Add-on installations and activations are generally the responsibility of PreSonus/Fender, since they developed the infrastructure. I only provide support as a courtesy because, as the creator of the add-ons, I am usually more agile and can often provide the right advice more quickly than Fender Support. I also hate the thought of users having to wait a long time for a response, for example at weekends.

Fully understood (and I'll try another search in case I missed a thread the first time), and thanks -- your help here is very appreciated by the group.
