How to import time signatures and markers without creating a new session?

Recently, I ran into a problem. I had already imported the audio files and tempo by dragging and dropping, and had everything organized. But later I found that this song changes time signatures multiple times. I also discovered that the MIDI file actually contains markers and time signatures. I admit this was my momentary oversight, but I'm curious if there’s maybe a simple way to import time signatures and markers from a MIDI file? I tried dragging and dropping like I did with the tempo track, but it didn’t work.

So is there a better way?

You did not include the Studio One version you’re using in your signature, although there is a notice reminding you to do so when you create a new thread in the Community Support forum. So we don't know which Studio One/Pro version you use.

Anyway, how about this?

- Create a new session for the imported MIDI file by choosing File -> Open or by dragging your MIDI file onto the Start Page
- Save the session
- Switch to your current project session
- Choose Session -> Import Session Data...
- Enable Tempo/Time Signatures/Markers

Import Session Data is a great feature that works perfectly which seldom gets mentioned. It's also really useful when creating alternative versions of essentially the same song, like if you started in one direction, then figured out what could be a better one, you're up and running in no time flat.

Agreed. I usually use it via the Browser (as shown in this video) when I want to re-use instruments/presets/tracks/effect chains used in previous projects. However, it won't give access to the Tempo/Marker/Signature Track so in this case, the Import Session Data window is the better option.

Sorry for replying to this post only today. I've already rebuilt the entire project. Thanks for the idea you provided; I'll try it next time! It would be great if Studio Pro could drag in other information just like dragging in BPM. Also, I'll go edit my signature!
