How do I...

...nest an FX track inside a folder?

I've done this before; all my FX tracks reside inside folders (e.g. Drum FX inside my DRUMS folder etc) but I have one that is not in the folder. I cannot get it to appear in the arranger track list so I can't drag it into the folder where I want it.

Can someone please refresh my memory?

Thx!

Haven't seen FX in my arrange window for a long long time. Maybe v6-era?

Just poked around with v8.03 and even added a bunch of FX tracks to an existing session - none appeared in the Arrange window.

If it's still possible - must be a setting I am not very familiar with or a workflow I simply do not do anymore.

I posted about using Buses to do this, but deleted what I wrote because SwitchBack's solution is much better (y) (y)

There’s no such thing as an FX track. In Studio Pro, there are Bus channels and FX channels - both are channels in the mixer.

If you want them to appear in the arrangement view (which I generally wouldn’t recommend unless you specifically need track automation), you’ll need to create an automation track for that channel. Once the automation track is created, you should be able to move it into a folder.

Ahhh this sounds familiar, thank you.

It's not that I really want them to appear in the arrangement (actually I'd prefer if they didn't appear there) but I DO want them to appear in the mixer, but only when I've expanded the related folder. In other words, I don't want to see my drum FX channels when I'm not mixing drums and have the drums folder closed.
