Help with Macro - New track & record enable

Hello everybody! This is my 1st post here :)
I am using Studio One for about 8 months now, and I would like your help for a macro:
I want to create a macro that will do the following when I press my selected shortcut:
  1. disable/disarm the recording option for all enabled tracks
  2. create a new track
  3. enable the record (R) for this new track
Also a newbie question: Since I have migrated from Cakewalk, I was used to pan the tracks in the tree view, without having to open the Mixer, or (in the case of S1) to open the Inspector on the side. I just want, apart from volume, to see the panning too.
Is there an option that enables that in the track view or is this impossible?

Thank you in advance!
Elias

Hmm.

My Studio One does this - with no macros. I add 16 tracks to a new project - none are record enabled.

Then if I "select" (with the mouse) Track 1 - it is armed and goes right into Record when I hit R on the keyboard

Once I am done with Track 1 and then move over to Track 2 (select with mouse) - Track 1 is no longer enabled and Track 2 is ready to go.

No macros needed.

You can set these under Options.

And as far as "panning" goes - Studio One draws a very strict line on what a Track is vs what a "channel" is (mixer).

Panning is done in the mixer. And only the mixer.

Thank you for your answer.
But I need a macro that will work with s keyboard shortcut, and without mouse clicking involved, because in my home studio I stay away of my pc in order to record myself and I want to create new tracks, ready for recording in the most efficient and quickest way possible.

Just tested this here - and I can cycle back between tracks - with no mouse - just using Up/Down arrows and as long as I can get the first track selected - they all activate/deactivate as selected.

How - exactly - or what exactly - do you work "on" for hardware - where you stay away from the PC?

That said - there are tons of macro examples out there (YouTube etc) - you will need to dive in and build one out for yourself.

I record acoustic and classical guitar so the way I set my microphones makes me stay in some distance from my desk. So I have a USB cable extension, so I bring only the keyboard close to me and I use shortcuts in order to work without reaching the mouse.

In that case - you will really need to built out a very well tested set of keyboard shortcuts.

Over here - it is "highlight" a track (which requires my eyes and a mouse) and then I simply hit R (Record).

But even then - this would not work from 20 feet away. You still need to set focus to specific UI elements before you can do anything - regardless of how good your macros might be.

Studio One - does not set focus to anything on screen by itself when starting a new track to my knowledge.
