Funcion key (on Mac), stupified

I've customized my hotkeys (so that the layout/muscle memory) works in all four of my DAW's, therefore, the idea of a 'custom' keyboard would be a disaster for me... LOL. But I totally understand the @Craig Anderton thought process!

As to which keyboard it is, its a smaller non extended version without the number pad. Not sure how that would play into it as its a new Mac. So its an Apple keypad.

As mentioned, Ive been away from Macs a very long time so nothing is obvious. Even settings. I've only spent a few minutes looking for that, but not having use of functions working was a real downer. Other keys were fine, so scaling, navigating and such were fine.
I would suggest he go with a larger keyboard as well. I'm used to the larger keypad on a PC, and not having that is a bit wonky. Geez, I'd have thought a Mac Studio would come with a larger keyboard with the numerical keypad.

I'll get over there today or tomorrow to resolve and check "settings".The other aspects of getting him up to speed with his Studiolive mixers all went well. Just those darn F keys.
Unfortunately the Mac Studio comes with nothing except a power cord. You have to get all the bits and pieces you need. (Well mine was like that anyway!) The short form keyboard is not great. I just found the larger one is better and simply works out of the box. Also Craig I tried one of those keyboards for Studio One and found I just never used it or looked at it. In fact its a bit annoying because normal functions are harder to see with all the Studio One stuff being on there as well. Too confusing for me. For me I have just found the Apple extended QWERTY keyboard is simply the best.

I'll vote for whichever candidate introduces the Uniform DAW Keyboard Shortcuts Act :ROFLMAO:

I'm considering one of the Editor Keys keyboards for Studio One. Has anyone used these?

I bought one for £99 a few years back and it broke inside a year. Meanwhile my £10 HP Keyboard lasted about 10 years and every Apple keyboard I've ever purchased is still going strong. So, I would personally not buy another one. Perhaps their quality has improved - but it was quite obvious it was a flimsy thing from day 1.
