Freezing busses

Freezing busses is so cool and such a time saver... when it works properly and half of the time it doesn't.
Has anyone else experienced random weird stuff when you unfreeze because you need to go back? Such as there are: midi or audio clips going missing, channel inserts gone. And all random not repeatable.

I haven't tried that yet. It would not surprise me at all if this new feature was buggy. I've lost a lot of faith in FSP over the last month. Weird stuff happens all the time. I am managing but it is rough, and reporting takes effort, time and precision.

It's not really a new feature but I've always had weird glitches with it. Sorry to hear of your troubles Sir, but every DAW has it's issues at certain points. I've cycled through a few in my time.

I've definitely cycled through at least 6 DAWs over the past 30 years. Studio One 6.6 was the most rock-solid one I have ever used. FSP8 not so much.

I hope you figure out the bus freezing issue. I'll be watching this post and will keep it in mind as I do any freezing.

I don't think the bus freeze issue will be solved anytime soon. So theoretically if you freeze and track or bus, and they unfreeze you should be back where you started. This isn't always the case and sometimes I loose plugins, midi tracks or audio tracks. It's not always the case so it's difficult to report because invariably you'll end up in a situations where tech sup says: it works fine here. And you'll say, uhh yeah it does here too now. And then a week later I'll have the same thing.
