Fender Studio Pro+ Subscription Perpetual License Version

Blademan

New member
Hi all,

Does anyone know? I have a running Fender Studio Pro+ (untill feb 6th) that apparently allows me to install the new version 8. It is offered as a download to install (which I did not do yet). However when I open my account information it shows 7.2.3 as the latest version with the info that I will receive a perpetual license for the current version. I'm confused now.

FSP8 will install as a completely different product. Check "My.Presonus"/My.Fender and you should see a download option for FSP8. Download/Install and you will be able to install it as a separate installation from S1 7.x

Hi,

Thanks very much for your reply... Perhaps you know... Does this mean I can install version 8 but will not be able to run that after feb 6th when the + subscription expires?

I will preface this with a big "I believe that....." (assuming you DO have a link to download FSP8 in my.presonus), then you have a perpetual license for the full program up to the current release level up to the expiration date shown in your license. Any + features you use will no longer work after that date, unless you renew your license. I keep my license and + status up to date so haven't had to worry about this - if I'm wrong on any aspect, someone will chime in....

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the reply... I was planning to keep the perpetual license but not the + subscription. Therfore I never used/installed the + content. In the account details it is stated that version 7.2.3 is the latest and if I read it well that will be the version I get to keep. Well.... we will see how the newly branded S1 will conduct its business :-)

You have a current perpetual licence for Studio One AND any upgrades or updates that happen with a year of your purchase, including any new versions that are released (ie FSP8). The end of that upgrade period stays the same, and your perpetual licence applies to whatever S1/FSP product that is current at the end of your year. The Terms are quite clear about this, and unusually easy to read and understand.

Yes, but it’s confusing that version 7 is displayed as „the latest version“. I contacted support for this and they have confirmed, that everything is like you described.

For me as well; in my.fender.com (got to get used to that) on the my subscriptions page, 7.2.3 is listed as the actual current version that I will get the perpetual license for at the time of expiration of the subscription.
I guess there needs to be done some repairs after the move from PreSonus to Fender...

Right up until you install v8.

I will venture a very strong guess - that your personal "countdown window" will update and show v8 being the new "perp" version that will apply to your "end of sub expiry" (whenever that is) as soon as you install and authorize v8

I can verify that this is not the case. I've downloaded and installed v8, but also have the 7.2.3 perpetual mentioned. I've reported it to PreSo.. ahem Fender and they confirmed IT will be checking this..

That would make sense, but in fact it hasn't happened for me - it still shows 7.2.3. And, as I've just (yesterday) bought and registered a new Quantum HD2 interface with a year's Plus sub (stackable) it hasn't updated the end date of that either. I'm guessing there's still a bit of work to be done on the back end.

Wow.

Logically - if I had 18 days to go in my sub and was running v7.2.3 and then installed v8.0.0 today - I would full expect that "countdown tracker" to know what I just did.

Not surprising that this "license system" continues to exhibit a number holes that still need to be plugged.

Let us know how this turns out

Hi Gerran,

Thanks a lot for this feedback. It would be very kind if you let us know here what will be the response of support. Thanks in advance.

If they get back to me, I'll report here as well!

I've got a ticket in with support as well, as I only have a few days before my current Plus sub runs out. I don't want to pay for another year, but I do want to get the 'free' year I got with my purchase!
