Hi and welcome to the Studio One & Studio Pro User Forum!

Actually a couple of things look interesting. The "per note" sound variation is really good and the Trim Automation is intriguing but I need to see it in action. Finally getting some improvements to the basic functionality which is hopefully a "pivot" rather than a "blip".
The list of bug fixes is kind of scary though given that we're quite a long way into the release cycle of v8 (came out in Jan).
Not enough to make me upgrade yet but at least there's a hint of temptation and hope restored.
Interesting. I also noticed some odd behavior JUST before the update to v8.20.
Over here - before I do any major update - I always do a system image, a Windows Sys Restore checkpoint AND I run my comprehensive Syncback Pro backup job to copy ALL my settings so I can recover on the other side if needed.
So - I do all my backups and all is good. Then I ran the v8.20 installer - and it stops almost immediately - telling me the "files are in use". This was about 2 minutes AFTER I checked v8.12 one more time.
Sure enough - within Task Manager - I see not one but TWO instances of StudioPro8.exe running - which was first odd - but I didn't think much of it - and killed them off and clicked Retry on the installer. V8.20 installed fine - but then I discovered the "running" instance thing again and that was the primer for my prior post above.
My next question is - has V8.12 been "hanging" in memory too - for who knows how long and I just didn't notice - or check?
If this is the case - that would also explain some other weird ass scenarios that I have seen in the past few weeks - but really never investigated properly.
Anyhoo - ticket has been submitted - I will update this thread with any new info.
Just watched the "intro" video From Fender about 8.2. They honestly couldn't have done a worse job of demonstrating the features and I was genuinely interested. Oh well, I'm sure they'll put out some longer vids in the next week or so.
Tested with both an existing track AND a brand new session.
However - after some digging - this could be Kontakt related. I am running a series of scenarios for support - and so far - I see the sticky EXE only when Kontakt is part of the equation.
Also starting to think there also might be a extra tentacle or two in here from Komplete Kontrol (both the DAW and instrument integrations) and the fact I am using the S61 MKIII - which completely lights up in DAW mode whenever SP is fired up.
8.2 effectively crashed on shutdown and created a DMP file. On the next start, it told me it had a problem and invited me to create a tech report (which I did). I then opted to do a normal start into a session (which had no Kontakt instances) and as the session came up the program reported an 'unexpected error' and it created its own problem report in AppData\Fender.
Edit: the non-Kontakt session also hung on shutdown - I don't have my S88 on this rig, so I can't comment on its behaviour, but I'm pretty sure it displays that behaviour with 8.1 too (ie I can't get it to display the Kontakt info when used as a plugin within Studio Pro).
There is an issue here so I'm not going to install the update on my studio rig until it's sorted. I may try an uninstall and then a clean install and see if that clears the issue, but that'll have to wait till tomorrow now.

I also had to update UC from 4.x to the latest 5.x to stop an issue where the program shut down but the icon stayed in the Task bar with the fuel gage running. Have to restart Explorer to make it go away. Still occurs occasionally if I have heavy use of NI Kontakt or KK in session. Still working out that issue.
