Fender Studio Pro 8.1 - Discussion Thread

I got the impression it's early access for plus members, but may be rolled out to all after it's out of beta.

If it is in beta - would be nice to know that.

As it stands currently - it appears to be ready to roll - and sub only.

It's written in the panel when you start a new chat / hit the plus button:

There doesn‘t seem to be a user‘s manual for 8.1?

Thanks. Downloadable as pdf? Google told me no.

Not for me there isn’t.

There is no chat ability or a “+” button.
Well, as you're not subscribed so you can't open a new chat to see it, of course.

That's why I say I get the impression that this may be public beta for subscribers only initially. But i'm just guessing.

Why is the channel metering still not working for an (imported mp3) audio track into a new 8.1 project?

Transport bar and main output channel metering works and responds to panning and volume changes on the channel.

Answering my own question: The monitoring icon/button affects the channel metering. If I'm not mistaken this used to be different in version 6.

Yes, it finally works!

I download it, then to verify it wanted me to sign into Fender Connect. Doesn't recognize my user name or password. it this only for + users? reinstalled 8.0 and runs fine.

The videos put out by Joe, and the articles I've already seen online, are quite clear that SA is for Plus users only, and is a public Beta for now. I think it's unlikely it'll get rolled out for the core product in this cycle, but eventually it's the way all software will go - along with AI in all sorts of other respects. Talking of which, like Splice and Tonalic, the Moises integration is effectively a demo until you subscribe to their services (apparently with a Fender discount over the regular price). I did subscribe to Moises a year ago and cancelled the subscription yesterday, ironically, as I found little use for it once native stem separation was made fairly reliable in Studio One/Pro, and I have Synth V and Sound ID Voice AI for vocal substitutions so I don't need that either.

Except this is for the initial V8 Release.

If this PDF is not updated for v8.1 - not exactly sure how that helps someone looking for something to do with the new release

I guess for the original v8 basics - it serves a purpose...albeit an old purpose.

I have the v.8 manual in my 'Books' app. Makes it easy to read on my iPad in bed. 😵‍💫

Is does not. Better watch the release videos to get an impression of what's new.

Who‘s ‚Moises?‘ :D

Hi @Lukas,
I just watched your vid on delay compensation. From what I saw, you have to get the values by trial and error?
Thx.
