Any news on the trial version?

I doubt they will release it until they are certain that the next release version is 8.1.0 (rather than 8.0.3) or they will release it soon after 8.1.0 released (looking at previous patterns). They want the demo to be as stable as possible.

Have they fixed the bug where, when opening any plugin window through the mixer or inspector, it opens with about a half-second delay? But when adding a plugin either through the channel overview or by clicking the track number, it opens instantly, as it should?

I posted the link to the release notes above. Check them out, they include all the fixes ;-)

Not seeing that behavior anywhere here. And I do not even use a graphics card.

FWIW: Did not see this behavior in any of the two prior versions either.

And no mention of any fixes in the Release Notes.

Not exactly certain this is a bug or more of an environmental issue on your DAW - specifically.

Very grateful for all these improvements and bug fixes. I am pleased to see that the brilliant logic of the ‘mute’ function for instrument tracks has been restored - though not listed in the list of fixed issues 🙏

I can now switch to v8 with confidence 😊

All the best to the team!

I guess the needed changes to support NI Kontrol keyboards is not considered a bug fix but a feature.

Well to be fair - v8.02 does "support" NI Kontrol boards just fine. It simply does not support the new Kontrol S-Series MKIII V2.0 Firmware enhancements.

I continue to wait - patiently.

Bug still repro'd in 8.0.2:

(EDIT, only repro'd in old projects now)

Sadly, nothing on the plugin delay compensation side, V8 is still not usable for my projects or I have to re-structure a lot.

Hard to know what this means without some context...

The plugin delay compensation while using sidechains into busses simply doesn't work and the whole chain is going out of sync. It's reported and confirmed by the support, but I would assume to see a high priority on such an issue. A correspondig thread can be found here. PDC is an absolute crucial aspect in the signal chain.

Unless a clean implementation requires a major rewrite of the codebase. Something that any product manager tries to avoid.
