Editing on Mac

Hi,

1) I recently changed over to MacOS, and 2) I haven't been taking a break from producing...

I'm trying to drag-copy an automation curve from one automation lane to another. How do I do this?

1) On a Mac for drag&copy you hold the Alt/⌥ key
2) Inside S1/SP I don't think you can drag&copy automation curves

What you can do is first Show Automation (A), then select the entire automation curve on track A (by dragging the selection tool across the entire length), hit Cmd-C, select track B, and hit Cmd-V. The first node of the selected curve on track A will land on track B at the position of the playhead, so tab to that first node on track A before pasting.

Trying to select the part using the trackpad on the MacBook is the first hurdle. When I select the part, none of the nodes are selected but there is a block around the source and destination lanes.

And I did accidentally dragged copy it but I have no idea how i did it

You want to 'Show Automation' (A) before selecting the automation nodes on the track. And you want the block to only cover the source track (the nodes should light up). Selecting ranges with the trackpad is a bit tricky (I use a mouse) but by keeping pressure on the pad you can take over with another finger to extend the drag when needed.

No idea how that accidental drag would work. Any thoughs y'all?

I managed to drag-copy an automation curve to another curve. Select with the range tool then press the alt/option key and move the cursor over the curve until a hand appears, then while holding alt/option, drag the curve to new location
