The problem is that with audio, I often seen uneducated people using very wrong connections and everything seems to work fine!
Example in a church band the bass player was using a speaker cable as his patch cord!! Said he never noticed that it was! I most certainly noticed a bad hum but he just thought the amp needed fixing. Not really his fault as speaker cables most certainly can look like patch cables.
The best recommendation I can give to anyone who is taking up audio as a hobby or profession is to sit down and start reading the Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Handbook. It is available as a real book or free as a PDF.
Then all this technical advice and jargon will make sense. And you become very confident about your set up. There is a reason why we do things the way we do them.
Radial stuff is an investment not a purchase. But your paying for the build quality for using it on stage. In a studio cheap build quality is not as important. But it is my first choice.
Behringer Ultra DI D 120. And it has 3 options for input impedance. 2 channels for $50. Owned mine for a very long time. The only Behringer product I own that didn’t break!
