Hello community, I'm new in this forum and I have created weird video tutorial for trying to solve a problem I had time ago, but I am also open to discussion in case there is a better method.
The problem I had is:
I load several legato instruments into the same VST instance, Kontakt for example, then I select those instruments and edit them. Although I can edit the MIDI notes, I noticed that I could NOT edit the modulation dynamics (or more dynamics) so that they are reflected in all tracks; they are only modified in one track.
To do that, I had to:
-Record everything again, or:
-Edit a dynamic, copy the dynamic.
-Paste at Original Position [Ctrl+Shift+V]. (Lukas mentioned this in a video).
. . . . . . . . . .But, what happen if i want to paste in many more tracks, maybe 20?
So, I tought a temporary solution, which was to have a track where I edit the dynamics and send to Kontakt as "omni", but Studio One doesn't have the option to send to ALL channels.
So, this method is:
1--Modify the dynamics on one instrument
2--Drag and duplicate that track onto an empty MIDI track
3--With a macro button, I delete all the notes but keep the dynamics (Important, Click in the piano roll when you do this and activate that macro from there)
[Update: Or you can have an empty track, and paste the dynamic values with "Paste at Original Position"]
4--If you want to modify the dynamics on that track, select all the tracks, then you can see the notes, but you only modify that dynamic
5--I trim that track a little (So that the merge works)
6--With another macro button, I copy and paste down in the same position as many times as I want (You can modify it to go up)
7--I press G and merge, then the dynamics are modified
It's a way to tackle the problem faster, but if anyone has a better method, they are more than welcome to share it and I will appreciate it.
I haven't thoroughly checked yet if automating the track (instead of doing it in the MIDI event) would make it easier to tackle the problem, i.e., that automation sending the modulation signal to all Kontakt instruments even if they are on different channels.
