First, sessions/songs are not backwards compatible, so that is something you need to figure out amongst yourself. Export as .dawproject might be a solution...
Second, the included collaboration worked through the available web space of the + subscription, so at least one of you needs a subscription, probably both if you want to take full advantage.
Now, it is of course perfectly possible to share the song folder through other services (keep in mind the first point In made).
My buddy has Version 6. I have version 7. We simply send MP3 files (stems) back and forth via email. Works just fine for us sinceHello,
I'm new to using this DAW and purchased Fender 8 yesterday. My collaboration partner has Studio One pro 7.
Neither of us have a + subscription at this time. Do we need to subscribe in order to collaborate seamlessly?
Thank you--
much appreciated. My music partner has cp- uses AAC to communicate and a wheelchair to get around. Heβs tech savvy, but multiple click moves can get tedious. I think we will spring for the + subscription to streamline our collabs. My buddy has Version 6. I have version 7. We simply send MP3 files (stems) back and forth via email. Studio One converts MP3 files to Wav Files when you drag them in or import. Would the + sub plan be easier?
Don't know. How we are doing it works ok. I am always up for an easier way but the cost needs to be reasonable.
If you do the + plan please let me / us know how it goes. Always Interested in how folks are doing these type of things
different than what we are doing. I can say, if there was 3 or more on this collaboration and everyone as studio one
then sending entire song file could work very well but as Gerran states: The same version is likely needed.
