I don't know if this works for Mac users but in Windows you can scroll horizontally in the mixer by press and holding the [Shift] key and moving the wheel mouse without it affecting any (pan, fader, etc.) parameters.I really wish I could scroll horizontally in the mixer with the mouse scroll wheel, without fearing hovering over a parameter and changing it unknowingly. I never use the scroll wheel for changing parameter values. Good tip on looking into the mouse setup, but that would be system wide, unless I look into profiles on the mouse.
I completely agree with you but only very recently (I think only in version 15, maybe 14 but not earlier for sure) were you able to have this option in Cubase. It was much worse than Studio One because there was no option to use shift to activate scroll instead of changing parameters. If you happened to use the mouse wheel in the wrong place by accident, which was very easy to do in the Mix Console, you could easily change things by mistake.I can’t keep losing hours fixing mixes because a simple scroll changes parameters (faders, knobs, etc.) without feedback.
This behavior makes the software unusable in a professional environment. It’s unbelievable that there’s still no option to disable this « scroll-to-change » behavior.
Calling it a « feature » is misleading, it’s a source of silent hidden errors.
I’m done with this, and I’m going back to Cubase for this reason.
