Can Harmony Wizard do this?

I have a new song that requires a piano to Vamp right hand just the chords of the song and make it sound realistic. The song is in G major with uses the chords C D and Em. It is in 4/4 time at 160 BPM
Could that be done in Harmony Wizard?
 
Sort of - but it's not really a piano comping generator. Something like this is on my list for a future version.

What you can do now is create a pattern using the Chop Chords command:


It has some built-in patterns for pop, EDM, disco - but these are very basic and don't include any variations.

So it's really more an advanced chord chopping than a piano part generator.

Yep, Scaler 3 will do what you want and a whole lot more. For your requirements I'd suggest starting with their "passages". Most of them are basically an extended chord with a small "flourish" at the end to add interest. It does have a bit of a learning curve though, and there are also some issues with it being blacklisted by Studio One. For me it seems to be sporadic so I just reset the block list and scan again and it normally finds it. They are working on it but, inevitably, they are also blaming Studio One for the problem.

Anyway, they have a free trial. Make an account here and the trials are in your account.
And I think it's on sale for a few weeks

There seems to be a serious problem regarding OpenGL related crashes. S1, Ujam and Scaler are all using OpenGL.

Ujam recently blamed S1 as well. ("It is important to recognize that this is a widespread issue within the Studio One ecosystem.") I can confirm that S1 with Ujam VSTs is frequently crashing though they are not blacklisted. If I add/use multiple OpenGL VSTs a crash happens almost instantly.

I looked into Windows crash logs and it's usually Windows services like dwm.exe or ntdll.dll that are crashing and in turn causing S1 or Ujam VSTs to crash or not respond anymore.

I don't know who's to blame. Could be a graphics driver problem as well.

Ujam seems to argue that multiple OpenGL apps can't coexist so it's S1's fault for choosing OpenGL and not the VST developers for choosing OpenGL. Would be interesting to know if multiple OpenGL VSTs eventually crash in DAWs that are not using OpenGL (and why not if the root cause is OpenGL overload according to Ujam) or if S1's OpenGL approach is fundamentally flawed.

This issue deserves a separate thread.

I think the Scaler 3 issue is a timeout rather than OpenGL. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to initialise or something.
Whenever Scaler goes on the block list the scanning log says "[Error] Async scan call timed out. Server process crashed". It is always 12 seconds after the Scaler 3 scan started. When it succeeds the time is more like 6 or 7 seconds.

I'm answering my own question. I tested only Ujam VSTs in Cubase 13. If I add multiple instruments then Cubase seems to be doing fine for at least a minute. As soon as I add an effect on an instrument track, Cubase crashes. So either Ujam VSTs are buggy or the OpenGL overload will eventually happen in any DAW.

Split the chords at bars 4, 6, 8. Either by using the Split Tool or by setting the cursor and choosing "Split at Cursor". Both with snapping enabled to make sure the split happens exactly on the grid.
 
I've never used Harmony Wizard very much before this project. It's a pretty impressive piece of software! Congratulation Lukus. What have you planned for this software down the road may I ask?

I won't derail this thread again but I need to correct my premature conclusion. My reasoning was heavily influenced by Ujam's S1/OpenGL post.

The Cubase crashes simply happened because my computer ran out of RAM. Ujam's VSTs consume a large amount of RAM I neither expected nor considered.

I'm not entirely sure (although definitely in some cases) the crashes in S1 happened due to lack of RAM. Regardless, I won't continue the discussion in this thread.

There are a couple of ideas, but no plans specific enough to share publicly. I've just released Scoring Tools 2, and currently, I'm working on Navigation Essentials and another new product that I've mentioned in several places. So the roadmap is pretty busy, but Harmony Wizard is just one piece of it :-)
