Is there any setting that can bypass the plugin scan on startup?

Yes, uncheck the "Scan at startup" option setting for VST Plug-ins...

Thanks. Odd place to put it that’s why I couldn’t find it.

Putting an option to enable/disable a VST plugin scan - on the actual VST Plugins tab - is an odd place to put it?

Can't think of a more logical place to put - TBH.

Yes, putting the "Scan on startup" option for VST plugins within the "VST Plug-ins" tab makes perfect sense to me.

It seems that putting the preference to "Scan on Startup" in the VST tab of the preferences dialog would be a no-brainer.

Another option be that if you click "Cancel" when Studio One starts scanning, it would retain the plugin list found in the most recent scan. That way if you forgot to uncheck "Scan at Startup" after installing a new plugin, you wouldn't have to sit through the entire scan again.

You could very reasonably argue that another sensible place for it would be with other Startup options i.e. under General, General -> "When Studio One starts......"

I'm not saying it should be..........just that it could be.
