Hi everyone! Frustrated newbie here...
I'm new to Studio Pro and mostly loving it so far, but also feeling like a raging idiot right now because I'm totally stuck on something that seems like it should be very simple to fix.
My problem in a nutshell: I've managed to link a MIDI parameter to a knob on my external controller and recorded automation on a midi instrument track this way. So far so good. I've also managed to view automation lanes so the parameter is visible. However, it doesn't render as I expected - instead of showing the automation points/automation curve it just shows an unbroken straight line across the entire automation lane that (sometimes, not always) moves to a new position when the parameter value is changed. The parameter itself seems to be automated correctly, it's just the visual representation that's weird. I've managed to find out that this happens (?) when the automation is written as "part automation" meaning it is stored as data within the clip/region instead of "track automation" which would show up in a lane in the way I'm used to automation always doing. So maybe I've understood what's happening...? But I can't for the life of me find a way to change it from part automation to track automation. I've tried asking Gemini, but it only gives me incorrect replies and refers to buttons and settings which don't exist, so I've given up on that. If anyone has a simple solution to this, I would be very grateful. Or if you just tell me it's something I have to live with, I can accept that as well if I know that's the case.
My system, in case it matters: Studio Pro 8.0.3.111164, Mac Mini M2 Pro, 16 GB Ram, Audient ID24, Nektar Impact LX49 Mk3.
