Anyone out there using ADSR Sample Manager (v1.8.4) within FSP v8.1.2?

Opened a older Studio One v7 project in Studio Pro V8.1.2 this weekend that contained ADSR Sample Manager (v1.8.4) running as a VST3.

I had a specific sample loaded into it and was triggering the sample via a single MIDI note on the track.

Oddly - this track seem to play fine for about 8 bars but as soon as it went longer than that - I would see an overlapping series of error messages (see screencap) indicating a series of "problem" reports were generated. Studio Pro did not crash - but there were audio glitches etc as this message seemed to occur over and over in succession:

I finally just closed the session - reloaded it and removed ADSR Sample Manager as a plugin and replaced it's midi track with the audio version of the same sample.

I did create a diagnostic report and submitted to Fender support - and their first question to me was "Has this plugin ever been tested in Studio Pro"? That is not a good sign.

Given the age of this plugin and the fact that is has not been updated in well over a year and a half - I am guessing the answer to the question from support is No.

I have submitted a ticket to ADSR and I am curious to see what they say - but I think I have a good idea what their response will be.

My initial take is that this plugin may have become ensnared in DEVs latest efforts to tighten the VST SDK spec within Studio Pro and this plugin has now been outed.

This is my only expose to current trouble with this plugin and I will conduct another test using a brand new Studio Pro v8.1.2 session and add this into it - clean and see what happens.

If any one else is using this plugin in any of your projects - specifically as a VST3 plugin - appreciate any intel you can share.

Cheers

Update: Just heard back from ADSR Support - they have forwarded this to development AND (will miracles never cease) they are preparing a new Sample Manager release for Q4 2026.

Wow.

I have ADSR Sample Manager here (checked it is 1.8.4) but it never gets used. FWIW though, I have seen the same type of stacked problem reports generated for a newer plugin that I use all the time - Imaginando's VS2 visualizer, current revision. The problem occurs when I attempt to use a preset that is video based. I think if FSP itself is not actually "crashing" it's an artifact of FSP's pseudo-sandboxed plugin handling where the plugin does, and takes FSP with it. Maybe overloading RAM, or maybe graphics can't keep up(?) I restart, load up my project replace VS2's preset with something more "sensible" and build from there. And VS2 and FSP work like a champ. This leads me to suspect that the plugin might not be the culprit itself if it works up to the point where FSP has to moderate something to keep it "under control". (Going back to my lane now 😁 )

Fender support supplied some "interesting" technical data on this thing - and it's looking more and more like ADSR needs to get their code buffed up a bit.

Also did some quick study and found out this thing is crashing like this in other more modern iterations of other"big" DAWS - so I am thinking this is more of time passing this plugin by rather than today's DAWs suddenly failing on it.

We have had some robust discussions in here in the last few months on FSP and it's ongoing review and general retooling of it's VST SDK spec. It would not surprise me if this specific plugin - which has not had an update in over 18 months - actually needs to be put up on the hoist and have it's undercarriage throughly serviced properly so it plays well in the 2026 (and soon to be 2027) DAW landscape.

You did well. I tried to download ADSR a couple of months ago and failed miserably. I reported it to their support line and they acknowledged the report - and I heard nothing more. I went with Curate instead!
