100% CPU spikes with new StudioVerb plugin?

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a weird issue where the new StudioVerb plugin will randomly spike to 100% CPU utilization. This is on the new Fender Studio Pro 8.0 and the 8.0.1 update. Tried both 32-bit and 64-bit precision. I'm using the "Flat Earth" preset on StudioVerb.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Windows 11, Intel 10700k, 32GB RAM, nVidia 2070 super, MOTU 828es over thunderbolt.

Yes, whenever it goes to "napping" state, it takes 100% of the CPU for some seconds. Makes it quite unusable without special actions.

I can't confirm it for FSP 8.1.2, but it might be related to this denormal issue:

That is why I am suddenly getting glitches!

Added this to a template a few days ago and immediately noticed very fast pops and glitches. Thought it was just my arrangement etc - but now I am going to yank this thing out and test this again.

I have checked this on my system. Does not happen (Mac) Plugin naps perfectly with zero CPU then restarts normally.

Getting in and out of napping can cause cpu spikes with quite a few plugins. This longstanding issue was/is also responsible for some Realtime Renders randomly failing due to CPU overloads. This connection never really got attention at the time if I remember correctly. Maybe now, with one of the native plugins being involved, it gets taken care of.
